	Exploring the Experiences of Filipino Parents on Distance Learning During COVID-19 Pandemic

	[Abstract] [PDF] This study was undertaken to explore the challenges faced by parents in teaching-learning situations with their children during this COVID-19 pandemic year. It employed a qualitative method through virtual focus group discussion/ interview via Google Meet with 11 parent-respondents whose children were enrolled under the blended online modality from across all grade levels in a public elementary school in Quezon City, Philippines to constructively assess and improve the strategies used by both teachers and parents to teacher the students during the health crisis. The findings suggested that parents described their experience regarding distance and blended learning as difficult and tiring because of the following reasons: time management, child discipline and supervision, knowledge on lessons, students? distraction from mobile games and YouTube videos available online and others (internet connection/gadget sharing). The parent-participants stated that the school and teachers were very responsive and supportive of their needs and queries and that they constantly communicate through a group chat messaging function in Facebook messenger. The parents observed there was an increased level of independence among their children but lower levels of their socialization skills. The researcher recommends the conduct of virtual or live (in person) parenting and values formation seminars and parent-help-parent program (PHPP) to enhance parental involvement and sharing of best practices among them to help other parents which may be done with the help of the Teachers? Club (TC), General Parent Teacher Association (GPTA), Homeroom Parent Teachers Association (HRPTA) and the local community council. The research suggested further studies on teachers and students? experiences to improve the school?s planning, strategies and streamlining of policies for the implementation of learning modality during this time of pandemic and in the coming years.

	Making It Happen: Educational Skills, Leadership and Management Graduates in Actual School Work in the Philippines

	[Abstract] [PDF] School leaders and teachers take graduate studies to become relevant and better educators. Aside from promotion in their rank, they believe that enrolling in graduate school will develop their skills in their respective fields of specialization. A teacher education university in the Philippines offers graduate programs in educational skill, leadership and management (EDSLM). True to its mission of nurturing innovative teachers and education leaders, many school leaders and teachers in the country are graduates of the university. Recently, enrollment in the masteral and doctoral educational leadership and management program is moderately high which may mean that graduate students believe in the course. Having more graduate students taking EDSLM courses is encouraging but finding if the program prepares effectively and develops holistically the skills of current or future school leaders brings a sense of fulfillment. The aim of this study is to find out the relevance and usefulness of the EDSLM program in terms knowledge and skills, communication skills, human relation skills, leadership skills, research skills, problem-solving skills and information technology skills in their current work. Moreover, the study identifies the needs and challenges of school leadership today and what must be given emphasis in the EDSLM courses. Based on the findings of the study, the graduates agree that the aforementioned skills that they acquired through the program are relevant to a great extent in their current work. They suggested that leadership in the new normal, people skills and technology skills should be given emphasis in the current EDSLM program.

	The Students? Performance in Homeroom Guidance as Predictor of the Academic Achievement of Grade 10 Students in Makabayan Subjects at Bendita National High School Magallanes District, Division of Cavite

	[Abstract] [PDF] This study investigated the effects of students? performance in Homeroom Guidance (HG) on the academic achievement of grade 10 students in Makabayan subjects. The researcher used descriptive-correlational method of research. Wherein, it focused on describing the relationship of the dependent and independent variables. Moreover, the data were collected from 102 students enrolled in Bendita National High School, District of Magallanes during the academic year 2020-2021. The students rating from Homeroom Guidance (HG) subject and their scholastic records in Araling Panlipunan (AP), Edukasyon sa Pagpapahalaga (ESP), Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) and Music, Arts, Physical Education & Health (MAPEH) were analyzed. Accordingly, the result of the HG assessment showed that students were still in the ?Developing? level. In terms of the academic achievement in Makabayan subjects, the students were ?Satisfactory? with an overall mean of 83.05. Furthermore, based on the results of the regression analysis, HG performance significantly affects the academic achievement of the students in AP (R=.467a , F=27.816, p=.000, p<.05); ESP (R=.631a , F=66.092, p=.000, p<.05); MAPEH (R=.553a F=43.970; p=.000, p<.05) and TLE (R=.513a F=35.788, p=.000, p<.05). Additionally, all of the learning areas have shown positive relationship as shown in the R-value. This study is limited to the grade 10 level population whereas the researcher intends to extend the study to other grade level and eventually, will be utilized in policy creation and other related programs. With the aforementioned, conclusions were drawn and recommendations were offered.

Disruptions occur consistently and how the school faces the challenges of disruptions depends on the school administrators. The school administrators need to manage the challenges in different ways in the 21st century, the time of hyper-change. Therefore, school administrators should prepare the technology into the disruptive leadership. The involvement of digital transformation and the future of education are the components that lead the school administrator to overcome the disruption and achieve recovery. Therefore, the school administrators should be more aware about the effects of the disruption that could create changes in the school?s management and the need to balance the whole wellness of the school community.

	Effectiveness of Adaptive Blended Digital Technology Learning to Improve Learning Outcomes of Digital Native Learners in COVID-19 Pandemic Situation

	[Abstract] [PDF] The objectives of this research were (1) to study the students' learning styles to create adaptive blended digital technology learning. (2) To study the effect of adaptive blended digital technology learning to improve learning outcomes of the digital native learners in the COVID-19 pandemic situation and (3) to study the pretest and posttest results with adaptive blended digital technology learning. The sample group consisted of 49 undergraduate students in the Digital Literacy course in the second semester of the 2020 academic year, Suan Dusit University. The research instruments were (1) the perceptual learning style preference questionnaire, (2) learning management plans using adaptive blended digital technology and (3) the questionnaire for learning outcomes with innovative learning. The data obtained were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test dependent. The results of the study were as follows: (1) The significant learning style preference of the sample group were Audio Learning Style (ALS), Group Learning Style (GLS) and Kinesthetic Learning Style (KLS), respectively. The sample group use of digital technology for learning was at a high level. (2) The learning outcomes in the learning innovation of the sample group were at the highest level when they were sorted on a descending order to technology utilization, digital media creation and intellectual skills. (3) the learning outcomes of the sample group before and after the study showed significant difference at.05; the learning outcomes after the experiment (M = 4.21, SD = 0.43) were higher than before (M = 3.12, SD = 0.71).

	Factors Influencing the Decision of Nakhon Pathom High School Students to Receive COVID-19 Vaccination

	[Abstract] [PDF] The objectives of this research were to 1) to study the factors affecting the decision on receiving the COVID-19 vaccination, 2) to compare the decision on receiving the COVID-19 vaccination classified by personal factors and 3) to study the relationship of factors affecting the decision on receiving the COVID-19 vaccination among students in a school in Nakhon Pathom Province. The samples used in the research were 120 secondary students in a school in Nakhon Pathom Province, aged 18 years and over. The data were collected from questionnaires that had a reliability of 0.91 and were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, chi-square test and Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. The results showed that 1) Factors affecting vaccine service decisions include disease prevention and transmission behavior, number of family members and behavioral factors for preventing and transmitting COVID-19. 2) Students with more than five family members had a higher level of decision-making for vaccine services than those with a few family members. And 3) Personal factors in the number of family members and behavioral factors preventing and transmitting COVID-19 significantly affects the decision to receive COVID-19 vaccine with a statistically significant at .05.

	Development of Work-Based Learning Skills Bank to Enhance Learning and Innovation Skills on Early Childhood Education for Caregivers

	[Abstract] [PDF] This study aims to develop work-based learning skills bank to enhance learning skills and innovation in Early Childhood Education (ECE) among the caregivers under the Department of Local Administration. It focuses on shaping the direction of caregiver?s development according to the existing environment. A caregiver means a person taking care of children aged 2-5 in their local area at daycare center under the Department of Local Administration. The study includes the analysis which is drawn from the Confirm Factor Analysis (CFA) to determine the factors of work-based learning skills bank. The sample group comprises of 10 experts in ECE and technology, and 1,467 caregivers which were selected from a total population of 46,673 through multi-stage sampling. The qualitative data was collected from the experts by the semi-structured interview, and content analysis. Then, the questionnaire on Work-Based Learning Behavior was used to acquire the quantitative data from the caregivers with reliability 0.945. according to the first order confirmatory factor analysis. The study found five factors of work-based learning skills including (1) technology, (2) knowledge, (3) learning activities, (4) outcome analysis and evaluation, and (5) work. The results showed that each factor had its key indicator and each one has resonated with the empirical evidence according to the Goodness of Fit Index (GFI). The GFI revealed that the chi-squired value of 0.04 and relative chi-squared value of 0.04. The standardized factor loading of each factor and factor indicator ranged between 0.756-0.936 and 0.436-0.936, respectively.
